Introducing the 2007 Microsoft Office
System
The
new 2007 Office System provides significant business value
in the form of greater productivity, business process improvements,
and cost savings for Information Workers and IT developers.
An
Overview - Improved Productivity and Collaboration
Information Workers want to locate and communicate with each
other directly and in the context of the business processes
in which they are involved and the applications they use every
day to do their jobs. The Microsoft 2007 Office System lays
the groundwork for a next-generation Information Worker experience
that is seamless, contextual, guided, role-based, visual,
and multi-modal. The System provides integrated, unified content,
collaboration, portal, and office productivity services.
The 2007
Microsoft Office System application platform will leverage
back-end business logic and data. The Business Data Catalog
allows users to include data from back-end systems in SharePoint
lists, Web parts, pages and search results. Via links, users
are able to pull up Web pages, display line-of-business application
user interfaces, or launch InfoPath 2007 forms.
What Forrester Says
Recently, Forrester wrote about the 2007 Office
System stating that it will be a strong alternative to custom
desktop applications. Forrester went on to say that Microsoft's
deep strengths lie in strong security, Information Workplace
readiness, and product roadmap but that it also has a strong
positioning in architecture.
An Invitation to Insource - Create Innovate Custom Application
Solutions Through 2007 Office System Rapid Deployment Projects
Microsoft invited Insource to take part in
its Rapid Deployment Projects initiative early in 2006, one
of only 76 companies worldwide to be asked to participate.
The goal was to use the 2007 Office System to develop key
client applications taking advantage of the advances inherent
in the product suite.

SharePoint Portal JUMPstart
Insource will work with you and designated department heads to demonstrate how SharePoint can enable and enhance collaboration in your company. Then we'll lead a facilitated session to draft an "ideas" list of how SharePoint can be used as a vital tool within the organization. The output of the meeting is a prioritized list sorted by department of all information needed on the Intranet or in the Document Library. We'll work with you to plan for the implementation of your SharePoint site and we'll be ready to provide support once the pilot project site is up and running.
